The Plant Controller will be responsible for managing the financial operations of our manufacturing facility. This role will oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to ensure the financial health and operational efficiency of the plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance within a manufacturing environment and be adept at driving financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:

    • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Provide detailed financial insights to support decision-making processes.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting:

    • Develop and manage the plant's annual budget and periodic forecasts.
    • Monitor financial performance against the budget and provide variance explanations.
    • Collaborate with department managers to prepare accurate forecasts.
  • Cost Management:

    • Oversee the cost accounting function, including product costing and inventory valuation.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to improve financial performance.
    • Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, and recommend process improvements.
  • Internal Controls & Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
    • Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
    • Coordinate internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations.
  • Financial Planning & Strategy:

    • Support plant management in strategic planning and decision-making.
    • Provide financial guidance on capital expenditures, investments, and business expansions.
    • Lead initiatives to improve financial processes and systems.
  • Leadership & Collaboration:

    • Manage, mentor, and develop the plant’s finance team.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive financial and operational performance.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Experience:

    • 7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on manufacturing environments.
    • Proven track record of financial management and analysis.
    • Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Skills:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
    • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
