Key Roles

This position is responsible for providing site data management and advance technical support to plant personnel and vendor agents seeking plant records. This position is also responsible for managing the plant¿s electronic and hard copy databases including production and revision of engineering drawings/maps/documents utilizing drafting and database management software tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support for software applications and specialized hardware used within the Document Center.
  • Procures all supplies and equipment to support drafting and data management for the site¿s Record Center.
  • Provides technical expertise in the areas of manual and computerized drafting to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Safeguards integrity and quality of permanent files, records, maps, engineering documents, and drawings of all site assets.
  • Creates and revises basic, detailed, and complex drawings, drawing components, maps, and drafting documents utilizing a computerized drafting system, including scanning and modification of drawings.
  • Develops preliminary drawings based on standards and project requirements for review by Engineers.
  • Provides drawing management and oversight for the plant¿s engineering drawings and documentation from in-house, contractors, and vendors.
  • Generates information used in support of site modifications and additions used by in-house or contractors.
  • Creates and maintains all data and files associated with all project design drawings.
  • Researches, evaluates, and implements new technologies for process improvements for drawing management, drawing as-builts, and database management.
  • Administers, supports, updates, and manages the site¿s software applications.
  • Provides technical support for software applications and specialized hardware used within the Document Center.
  • Provides training on database use and drawing management.
  • Provides database administration for cloning, backup, and recovery of all engineering drawings.
  • Creates and maintains all data and filing associated with documents generated by the implementation of capital improvement projects on site.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Key Requirements

Education and Certifications / Licenses:

  • Bachelor¿s degree in a related area. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
     

Experience:

  • Five (5) years of related experience.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Working knowledge of Visual Basic or other programming language as well as general networking and PC knowledge.
  • Demonstrated skills in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must have effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of power plant construction methods/procedures.
  • Knowledge of Agile, PeopleSoft, MicroStation, and AudoCAD, and how Agile integrates with PeopleSoft.
  • Database administration skills including cloning, back-up, and recovery.

Working Conditions

  • Usual office conditions apply to this position with occasional field work with conditions including, but not limited to, climbing and walking on uneven terrain.
  • Occasional lifting up to twenty (20) pounds.
  • Frequent travel within the system and occasional out-of-state, which may be overnight.
