Position Title: Senior Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Analyst -- Contract
Location: North of Noblesville, IN
Job Type: Contract
Experience Level: 5 years Accounting / Financial Analysis
Salary: up to $55/hr
Position Overview:
Our client is currently seeking a Contract Senior FP&A Analyst to be responsible for providing strategic financial insights and supporting the company's financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis functions. This role requires a high degree of analytical skill, business acumen, and the ability to communicate complex financial information to stakeholders across the organization. The Senior FP&A Analyst will collaborate closely with various departments to drive financial performance and support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Planning and Forecasting:
    • Lead the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
    • Perform variance analysis to compare actual results against budget and forecast, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
    • Collaborate with business units to gather data, understand assumptions, and ensure accurate financial projections.
  2. Financial Analysis:
    • Conduct detailed financial analysis, including profitability analysis, cost analysis, and scenario modeling to support strategic initiatives.
    • Analyze key financial metrics and KPIs, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
    • Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management and executive teams.
  3. Business Partnering:
    • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations, Sales, Marketing) to provide financial guidance and support decision-making.
    • Assist in evaluating business performance, identifying areas for cost optimization, and driving profitability improvements.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, providing insights and recommendations based on financial data.
  4. Process Improvement:
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial planning and analysis activities.
    • Develop and maintain financial models and tools to support forecasting, budgeting, and analysis processes.
    • Lead or participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by the CFO / Controller.
  5. Compliance and Reporting:
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements in financial reporting and analysis.
    • Support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations related to financial planning and analysis.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, or related roles, with a strong background in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion). Experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead projects, mentor junior analysts, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business operations, financial performance drivers, and industry trends.
