We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Talent Development to lead and enhance our talent development initiatives. This role will be crucial in developing and driving our talent development strategy to align with our company objectives. The successful candidate will conduct needs assessments, implement learning solutions, and manage performance tools to support employee and leadership growth. This position will also oversee a team of talent development professionals, manage program budgets, and stay abreast of industry trends to ensure our talent strategies are cutting-edge and effective.
Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Development and Execution:
- Develop and drive the talent development strategy to align with overall company goals.
- Conduct regular needs assessments to identify skill gaps and devise learning strategies that link employee and leadership competencies to organizational requirements.
- Implement a data-driven approach to assess program effectiveness and continuously improve learning outcomes.

Learning Solutions and Training:
- Identify, design, and manage the implementation of suitable learning solutions and training methods that align with the learning strategy, customizing as needed.
- Oversee performance management tools and processes to support and enhance employee growth.

Talent Identification and Development:
- Partner with department and HR leadership to identify high-potential employees and develop corresponding talent development initiatives.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to integrate talent development with other HR functions, such as talent acquisition, compensation, and employee engagement.

Budget and Resources Management:
- Manage the budget for talent development programs and initiatives, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Lead and mentor a team of talent development professionals to foster a high-performing culture that promotes inclusion and continuous learning.

Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with management and HR partners to address performance issues and recommend appropriate training solutions.
- Stay updated on industry trends in talent development and apply best practices to our programs.
Qualifications:

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

Certifications:
- Professional certification in talent development, such as APTD, CPTD, or CPTM.

Experience:
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in learning and development, talent development, and/or organizational development, including at least three (3) years of supervisory experience.

Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of best practices in talent development and performance management.
- Experience in instructional design, learning interventions, and training delivery.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing effective learning programs and interventions.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate data, providing actionable insights.
- Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in mentoring and developing teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends and travel locally as needed to support business needs.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role with or without accommodations.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:
- the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;
- other business and organizational needs.
With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
