Title: Senior Data Governance Analyst/Project Manager
Duration : 4 months, renewable
Work Environment: Hybrid, 3 days working in Mississauga 
Hours: 37.5 Hours

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Governance Analyst / Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business and data analysis, project management experience, and a passion for establishing data governance foundations. This role involves working collaboratively with stakeholders to understand report data sources, usage, and cost, and performing analysis to rationalize the report inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis & Governance: Perform data analysis, data mapping, and data profiling on data-related projects. Establish and implement data governance frameworks and best practices.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work collaboratively with stakeholders to understand the reports, their data sources, and usage. Perform analysis to rationalize the report inventory.
  • Project Management: Manage and drive data-related projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project goals.
  • Communication & Coordination: Facilitate and coordinate meetings, document the minutes for executive reporting, and drive initiatives with strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Technical Expertise: Utilize reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, and querying tools like SQL and BigQuery to generate insights and support decision-making.
  • Executive Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports to executive leadership, providing clear insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Leverage excellent interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Retail Domain: Apply knowledge and experience in the retail domain to enhance data governance practices and project outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of experience in Business Analysis and Data Analysis.
  • 3-4 years of experience managing projects.
  • Proven experience working on data-related projects, performing data analysis, data mapping, and data profiling.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles and experience in establishing data governance frameworks.
  • Proficiency with reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker.
  • Experience with SQL, BigQuery, or other querying tools.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to facilitate and coordinate meetings, and document the minutes for executive reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred experience in the retail domain.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certification in project management (PMP, CAPM, etc.) or data governance (DGSP, CDMP, etc.).
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms.
