Job Description:

Overview: As an AWS Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing our data infrastructure on AWS. You will utilize your expertise in AWS services, Python, SQL, and Node.js to build and maintain robust data pipelines and support the development of a middle layer between our database and UI. This position is based in Nashville, TN, and offers a competitive salary of up to $105,000.00 per year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines on AWS. Implement ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data efficiently.
  • AWS Services Management: Utilize AWS services including Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, and others to manage and optimize data storage and processing.
  • Python Programming: Develop and maintain Python scripts for data processing, integration, and automation tasks. Write and optimize Python code to handle large datasets.
  • SQL Development: Write complex SQL queries and stored procedures to extract and manipulate data. Ensure data integrity and optimize query performance.
  • Serverless Architecture: Implement and manage serverless solutions using AWS Lambda and other serverless technologies to enhance scalability and reduce operational overhead.
  • Node.js Integration: Contribute to the development of a middle layer using Node.js to facilitate communication between the database and UI. Collaborate on building and optimizing this integration.
  • Data Quality and Governance: Ensure high data quality standards and implement data governance practices. Monitor data workflows and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with AWS, including serverless technologies. Proven experience in designing and implementing data pipelines and managing data on AWS.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, including the ability to write and optimize stored procedures. Familiarity with Node.js and its integration with data systems.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics) are a plus.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
