Our client is a market leader and a trusted brand in the Electrical Infrastructure industry. They are looking for a Finance Manager who will be responsible for providing financial expertise to the Shawflex consolidated region.

Planning And Strategic
- Lead and prepare with the team members and management input, one year Business Plan and the three-year Strategic Plan for Shawflex consolidated.
- Active participation and development of the sales and operation planning process.
- Adapt the use of management tools such as Enterprise Resource Planning and Quality Management concepts.
- Direct and review the preparation of all financial information and reports for Shawflex consolidated, including monthly financial statements, controller's report, monthly financial forecast, quarterly schedules and cash forecasts.
- Consolidate & prepare financial information such as Monthly management reports, 12 months rolling financial performance forecasts for Shawflex Americas.
- Direct the annual standard cost study and verify that standard improvements and cost reductions are reflected in the new standards.
- Provide guidance and authorize credit granting to customers, and to ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures and within sound business practices.
- Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure compliance with corporate guidelines and to maximize benefits of cash discounts, timely payments, etc.
- Analyze operating results for variances to Plan. Forecast and review alternatives with management
- Evaluate all capital expenditure proposals for financial merit. Establish financial payback.
- Review results for Sales and Product Costing, manufacturing variances and Operating Expenses through Gross Margin and Contribution Margin performance. Recommend alternatives.
- Meet annual departmental budget
- Ensure full compliance with Corporate and Internal Audit requirements (52-109) by initiating policies and procedures that facilitate this.
- Ensure the segregation of duties within the finance department. Ensure employees’ duties and tasks are not conflicting with their responsibilities.
- Enforce the safekeeping and proper utilization of all divisional assets, including Inventories, Capital Assets, etc. This involves communication to responsive employees on enforcement of policies.
- Direct and Influence division towards meeting division's goals. This involves ensuring policies such as credit terms, payables terms, Inventory levels/days, cash settlement practices, etc. are in place to stimulate appropriate actions.
- Meet IFRS standards.
- Ensure effective payment process is in place (bank account structure, signatories, banking software, letter of credit)
- Aid in preparation of transfer pricing studies and documentation.
- Manage functions and staff of the Accounting department.
- Agree on personal objectives of staff. Monitor and provide ongoing support to ensure achievement
- Conduct annual performance reviews
- Encourage ongoing employee development through educational upgrade and job improvement.
- Ensure compliance with Corporate mandate re Incident, Injury Free (IIF) and legal health and safety requirements within department.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business
- CPA - required
- 3 to 5 years accounting experience in manufacturing operation where there are standard costs, variance control, inventory control.
$110,000 - $130,000/year
