About the Opportunity
Financial Reporting
  • Oversee month-end financial close process for various operating companies within the group
  • Review manual journal entries (revenue, accruals, banking, loans, prepaid amortization, payroll, intercompany, etc.) from junior members of the Corporate Finance team
  • Review and close AP module for all expenses
  • Review and approval all monthly balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliation
  • Generate and review monthly and annual financial statements
  • Review and approve monthly HST and WSIB payments and income tax installment payments
  • Providing coaching, training and accounting development to junior members of the Finance team
  • Indirect management of 18 staff at facilities reporting daily financial information into Finance team
  • Identify and implement new ways to improve quality and efficiency of financial processes
  • Manage day-to-day banking requirements (i.e. fraudulent transactions, stop payments, EFT processing, etc.)
  • Contribute to annual financial statement audits each year
  • Conduct financial and non-financial analysis to make recommendations to senior management to improve financial results and/or overall financial reporting process
  • Miscellaneous projects or reports as required by Corporate Controller for CFO
Operational
  • Act as main point of contact with vendors for specific contracts
  • Recommend and implement accounting and financial reporting process improvements
  • Manage professional relationship with regulatory vendors
  • Partake in management of cash-handling, storage, processes and procedures for all cash movement throughout our locations
  • Assist with cash office reporting and administration at facilities, including hiring, training and S.O.P knowledge

About You
  • CPA designated
  • Minimum of 4 years working in an accounting position or relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles
  • Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software
  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite or Sage products would be an asset but not required
  • Previous experience working for an accounting firm strongly recommended but not required

Salary Range
$95,000-$105,000/year
