Staff or Senior Accountant

Our client, a single-family office, is seeking a Staff/Senior Accountant to join their dynamic accounting and finance team. This role is pivotal in facilitating the month-end close process, supporting accounts payable, and assisting with the budget process. The successful candidate will seamlessly transition between day-to-day accounting tasks and long-term financial projects. This position offers a hybrid work environment.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions in a timely manner.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Prepare monthly payroll journal entries and ensure reconciliation to the accounting system.
  • Assist with inter-entity reporting and billing.
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets and financial planning.
  • Generate budget-to-actual reporting and monitor variances.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including maintaining accurate vendor and customer records, reconciling vendor accounts, managing vendor relationships, and entering credit card receipts for accurate general ledger input.

Tax and Compliance:

  • Assist with the preparation of 1099s.
  • Work with external CPAs to provide information for tax returns.
  • Help establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience with a solid understanding of accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including data manipulation, analysis, and functions.
  • Knowledge of Bill.com is beneficial but not required.
  • Physical capability to perform all core functions of the position.

Compensation:
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure: $90K - $130K per year.
