Summary of Essential Job Functions
  • Work closely with the IT management to develop and implement strategic plans and objectives to maintain and improve cloud-based Azure technology services to support all operations.
  • Provide leadership to IT and University Bank in the implementation, maintenance, and support of cloud-based systems including servers, workstations, databases, identity management, configuration management, and security.
  • Evaluate existing IT and business technology systems and develop / maintain technical roadmaps for those systems.
  • Partner with IT and non-IT management to understand technical needs and develop technical solution recommendations to meet those needs both in cloud-based and terrestrial environments.
  • Provide guidance on cloud-based licensing and support contracts and maintain licensing compliance at all times.
  • Provide input on data protection, access, authentication control, resource management, monitoring, high availability, and fault tolerance in a scalable virtualized and cloud infrastructure.
  • Implement technology solutions that ensures the design of system allows full integration into the existing and planned cloud-based IT infrastructure.
  • Ensure cloud-based services have appropriate business continuity and tested disaster recovery capabilities at all times.
  • Develop enterprise testing plans for integration of proposed new cloud-based technologies to be included in the enterprise design and develop test-related documentation.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for increased efficiency, cost savings, and process automation within the IT technology infrastructure.
  • Partner with vendor partners in the design, specification, and implementation of new technology solutions including budget management, SLA compliance, and solution performance validation.
  • Perform administration of network and resource structure including but not limited to server support, and Active Directory support.
  • Participate in on-call after hours support, responding to support calls after hours/weekends/holidays, etc.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance projects and documentation as needed, including but not limited to vendor risk reviews, department risk assessments, , disaster recovery and business continuity plans, and IT audit and exam preparation and follow-up activities.
  • Mentor and train IT employees on technology solution maintenance and support activities.
  • Own and manage cloud-based technology design, implementation, conversion, and upgrade initiatives and collaborate with IT and business unit employees to ensure successful and cost-effective solutions.
  • Participate in the annual IT budgeting process to ensure all capital, annual, and monthly costs are accurately recorded and forecasted.
  • Maintain existing systems including patching, updates, and upgrades as needed.
  • Document systems and support techniques, and cross train others within the IT department to ensure continuity of operations at all times.
  • Provide assistance as needed for escalated issues and problems from other areas of IT and from business units.

Education, Training and Work Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or similar discipline highly preferred
  • 6 years of IT experience required.
  • 4 years of technical engineering experience highly preferred.
  • 4 years of cloud / Azure-based engineering experience
  • Experience managing Azure tenants, licensing, and provisioning.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships – contract reviews, managing service level agreements (SLAs) required.
  • Experience with virtualized environments, cloud infrastructure, switch / router management, support of business applications, demonstrated customer service capabilities, back-up, and recovery, and understanding of cyber-security practices required.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry, highly preferred.
  • Project management experience highly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Engineer-level knowledge of cloud-based Azure technologies including servers, workstations, databases, security, and identity management.
  • Advanced knowledge on Azure-hosted desktop provisioning, monitoring, and management
  • Engineer-level knowledge of IT technology infrastructure components
  • Demonstrated experience with building positive working environments within an IT department and with business unit customers.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and performance reporting systems.
  • Experience with automation of IT tasks and increasing operational efficiencies.
  • Ability to understand and track expenditures as compared to budget plans.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and implementing integrated technology solutions across multiple business units.
  • Ability to mentor and train employees.
  • Highly organized and able to multi-task productively.
  • Excellent time management skills, meets deadlines, and is results oriented.
  • Project management experience.
  • Takes ownership for the successful completion of projects and tasks.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
