Position - Senior Software Developer

Contract Length: 6-month full-time Senior Developer contract.
Term/Rates: $60 to $70.00 per hour on W2 with benefits
Hiring Potential: It exists if things work out well during the 6-month contract, but it is not guaranteed.

Remote Onsite: The position is hybrid, meaning we’d want them in the office three days a week (desired). If someone could only be onsite for one or two days, I’d still consider them, but a good balance would be good. If they like to be in the office, they can feel free to be there five days a week.

The Senior Software Developer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining software applications and tools. This person will work closely with cross-functional leaders to gather requirements and provide updates on project progress. The ideal candidate will have exceptional software design skills and experience working with various technologies to build robust and scalable solutions tailored to enterprise environments, particularly manufacturing.

The Senior Developer role will support new projects such as our Customer Data Platform, new ERP system, and ongoing EDI initiatives.
In addition, the senior developer will focus on maintenance, troubleshooting, feature enhancement, and integration for existing applications such as the ones listed below. Many systems require interaction with SQL databases, APIs, integration frameworks like SSIS, scheduled task automation, and dashboard reporting.

In this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective software solutions. You will lead the design, development, and testing of software applications, primarily utilizing C#, .NET, and other relevant technologies, tailored to meet the specific needs of a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code while adhering to established coding standards and best practices. You will also debug and troubleshoot existing software applications, providing timely resolutions using tools such as Visual Studio and Git.

You will identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within manufacturing workflows, employing automation scripting (e.g., PowerShell) and other development tools to enhance efficiency. The role involves developing and deploying RESTful APIs and automation scripts to streamline repetitive tasks and increase operational efficiency. You will lead system integration efforts, addressing challenges in raw material applications and shipping systems.
Additionally, you will take ownership of high-level projects, such as system forecasting and shipping system updates, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with external stakeholders. The position requires you to prototype and develop long-term strategic projects with a focus on modularity and scalability. Maintaining comprehensive project documentation, including system architecture diagrams in Visio, will be crucial to ensuring alignment with organizational strategy.

You will also provide technical leadership in the development of cloud-based applications and DevOps processes, aimed at enhancing system performance and reliability. Lastly, mentoring junior developers and participating in performance reviews will be key to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and development within the team.
