A South Bay CPG company is looking for an Accounting Manager to add to their team. Reporting to the CFO, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for private equity reporting, month-end close, managing external partners, inventory, system implementation, and process improvement. What do you need for this Accounting Manager role?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- 5-8 years of accounting experience
- MUST have inventory experience
- Advanced Excel
- Experience with a system implementation is a huge plus
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in tracking and valuation of inventory.
- Reconcile inventory balances between general ledger, subledger, and physical inventory counts.
- Review and analyze variances in COGS, identifying root causes and providing recommendations for improvements.
- Work closely with the supply chain team to monitor inventory movements, product costs, and stock levels.
- Ensure compliance with company policies.
- Own the month-end close process, including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and review financial reports, including balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.
- Analyze cost variances and provide insight into potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Support the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages for management and private equity stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes.
- Assist in the preparation for audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives, providing financial expertise to support strategic decisions.
- Assist in system implementations, upgrades, or changes related financial reporting.
