We are recruiting on behalf of a client company in Hartford, CT, renowned for its innovative approach and commitment to financial excellence. This company is seeking a consulting Senior Accountant to support its financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting and analysis while contributing to strategic financial initiatives.
Role Overview
The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Controller, overseeing key financial functions such as month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger management. This role requires strong experience in SAP and a solid understanding of GAAP principles. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to drive process improvements across the organization’s finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accurate financial results.
- Prepare and analyze comprehensive financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
- Conduct reconciliations and account analysis, identifying trends and variances to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with the Controller and other finance team members to support budgeting and forecasting efforts.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls, preparing documentation for audits as needed.
- Utilize SAP for financial data management, reporting, and process automation.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in a consulting or fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in SAP and Excel, with experience in ERP systems being advantageous.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP and experience with general ledger functions and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and stakeholders.
