Global Controller
Our client, a rapidly growing technology company, is seeking a Global Controller. The role is a key leadership position responsible for leading global accounting, consolidations, budgeting, and administrative functions. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely but has a preference for candidates based in the Bay Area. The successful candidate will work closely with regional leaders and the CEO, driving financial forecasting and serving as a business partner.
Responsibilities:

Own global accounting, revenue recognition, financial reporting, accounts payable, payroll, tax, and stock administration for the company

Set up and build out the necessary systems, accounting policies, internal controls, and processes to support the business as it continues to rapidly scale

Build and manage relationships with external accountants and auditors

Build, manage and grow an internal team as the business scales

Guide the CEO and Management Team through financial complexities

Establish US GAAP compliant revenue recognition and automate the process working with the product/development team

Establish and automate reporting/monitoring required for warehouse lines and creditor relationships

Establish consolidation and roll-up of five subsidiaries working with local accounting firms

Prepare a monthly and quarterly financial package for review by the board of directors

Update the company’s Excel-based financial model monthly to include actuals plus updated cost and revenue forecast numbers

Develop a yearly operating budget with department heads and provide monthly variance versus budget reports

Ensure payroll is processed efficiently in the US and handle payroll in other regions working with local accounting firms

Handle the payment of all accounts payable in the US and supervise accounts payable payment in other jurisdictions
Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA is highly preferred
-
Relevant experience in accounting, controlling, and/or audit experience

Experience working for an accounting firm and a fast-growing technology company

Global controller experience with a focus on US, LATAM, and APAC with multi-currency and multi-entity consolidations

Strong knowledge of systems including expense management tools and AP automation

Expert at Excel with extensive experience building financial and budgeting models

Fluent in English; ability to speak Chinese and/or Portuguese is a plus
