Our client is currently scaling their operations and requires someone who can hit the ground running with minimal guidance, as the finance team is stretched thin and undergoing growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both financial reporting and account reconciliations, with experience working in large ERP systems. You’ll be part of a lean team focused on streamlining processes and reducing working hours, while continuing to improve efficiency across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconciliation & Reporting:
- Perform monthly reconciliations for cash, balance sheet accounts, and other financial statement elements.
- Work closely with POS systems and the General Ledger (GL) to ensure accurate tracking and reporting, particularly in a manual reconciliation process.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements (Income Statement & Balance Sheet) in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- General Ledger (GL) Management:
- Handle journal entries (JEs), accruals, and other key entries to ensure proper recording of revenue, expenses, and balance sheet activity.
- Oversee the accounting for accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) processes, ensuring accuracy in reporting and consistency with company policies.
- Internal Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Assist with internal financial reporting to provide senior management with insights into financial performance.
- Analyze trends in financial data, identify discrepancies, and recommend improvements to processes.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring timely and accurate financial data, and help resolve discrepancies.
- Support leadership in navigating organizational changes by maintaining clear communication and adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (CPA strongly preferred).
- 5 years of experience in accounting, with a strong foundation in U.S. GAAP and accrual-basis accounting.
- Proven experience with balance sheet reconciliations, including cash and other key accounts.
- Solid experience in journal entries (JEs), internal financial reporting, and financial analysis.
- Strong expertise in accounts receivable (AR), revenue recognition, accounts payable (AP), and expense tracking.
- Highly proficient in Excel with advanced skills for reconciling accounts and analyzing financial data.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and a flexible, adaptable approach to change.
- Experience with Sage Intacct (GL) or similar ERP systems (work with large ERP systems is a plus).
