Vaco is representing a growing company in Los Angeles, CA, looking for a detail-oriented temporary Staff Accountant with experience in NetSuite to join their team. This contract role will assist with a variety of accounting functions, including financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger management, in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Position Overview:
The Contract Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions and records. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting skills, prior experience with NetSuite, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a team effort.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general ledger accounting and maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.
- Review and verify the accuracy of accounting entries in NetSuite.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable teams with financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes as needed.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analyses and reporting for management.
- Help ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Prepare supporting documentation for audits and assist in audit preparation.
- Process transactions in NetSuite and help optimize workflows within the system.
- Provide support on special accounting projects or system improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience, with at least 1 year of hands-on experience using NetSuite.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in NetSuite accounting software (mandatory) and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot accounting issues.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Pay: $35-40/hr
