The Director of IT serves in a multi-location, multi-company environment between the IT function and core business units, driving alignment of digital and technology initiatives with organizational goals. This position is responsible for ensuring that IT solutions meet the operational and strategic needs of the business, facilitating collaboration between stakeholders, and delivering on key IT projects personally, through direct reports, and/or 3rd party service providers. Reporting to the Chief Digital Information Officer, this role focuses on leveraging digital transformation opportunities to enhance business processes and improve operational efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities
• Serve as the day-to-day IT service liaison to the business unit(s) for all IT services. Collaborate and coordinate with other organizational leaders to ensure consistent service levels are met locally, ensuring a deep understanding of business needs and goals.
• Collaborate with the business counterparts to analyze computer system needs for management information and functional operations and build, communicate, and maintain the Application roadmap for supported business units.
• Ensure seamless communication and collaboration between IT teams and business stakeholders to optimize technology adoption.
• Oversees the development and management of the Annual IT budget supporting the business unit('s) roadmap.
• Responsible for the execution of the IT roadmap.
• Recommends and develops plans for meet the desired business capabilities.
• Consults with management to determine scope and priorities of projects, and to discuss system capacity, resources, and compliance with corporate strategies.
• Negotiates and contracts with consultants, technical personnel, and vendors for services and products.
• Manages the development, implementation, installation, and operation of information and functional systems for the organization.
• Champion change management efforts, assisting business units in adopting new digital tools and technologies.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for IT projects and services, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Act as a key point of escalation for IT issues affecting business operations, working to resolve critical incidents effectively and efficiently.
• Develops, implements, and monitors management information systems policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, legal, regulatory compliance and compliance with corporate policies and controls.
• Manages the day-to-day relationship with our ERP and other software support partners and other project-based 3rd party service providers.
• Provides priority and manages the support partner’s work intake process
• Oversees progress against commitments
• Coordinates with business counterparts the deployment of enhancements and fixes
• Collaborates and coordinates execution with the organizations Enterprise IT function (shared services):
• Collaborate with the CDIO and other executives to develop and implement digital strategies that drive innovation and business growth.
• Help to establish the enterprise catalog of software and infrastructure and to leverage and procure items from that catalog to support business unit end users.
• Develops, maintains, and tests disaster recovery plans.
• Collaborates on IT-related recommendations and assistance for subsidiary or sister companies.
• Coordinates with others for the purchase, implementation and configuration of networks, desktop, infrastructure equipment, and monitoring tools.
• Coordinates with IT to ensure IT SOX-related control testing for supported companies
• Primary interface between business users, service providers and enterprise teams for all IT services whether provided internally or via 3rd parties
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training of employees and consultants; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Education/ Experience
• 10 Years of relevant experience overseeing IT teams and/or overseeing IT organizations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
• Experience operating in organizations >$500 Million
Competencies/ Technical Skills
• Must have ERP management knowledge (preferably in a manufacturing environment). Epicor experience preferred.
• Experience with CRMs (Salesforce), Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence (Microsoft Fabric), iPaaS, CAD/CAM software, Procore a strong plus.
• Construction, manufacturing, AgTech, or related industries is highly desirable.
