  • Oversee and manage the rental revenue billing processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Perform annual Common Area Maintenance (CAM) reconciliations and estimates.
  • Take charge of accounts receivable processes, working closely with property managers and ensuring timely tenant follow-up.
  • Track and manage capital expenditures (CAPEX) across the portfolio.
  • Review lease agreements for financial implications, ensuring proper setup and maintenance of lease accounting.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and providing requested documentation.
  • Drive the implementation of best practices for real estate accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Play a lead role in optimizing real estate accounting software and tools to improve operational efficiency.

What We’re Looking For:

  • In-depth GAAP Accounting Knowledge: Expertise in generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Analytical Expertise: Strong ability to assess complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Project Management: Proven experience in managing cross-departmental projects and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Contractual Understanding: Skilled in reading, interpreting, and analyzing lease and other contractual documents.
  • Software Proficiency: Extensive experience with MRI or Yardi accounting platforms.
  • Adaptability: Experience in aligning accounting processes with business growth or implementing technological changes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or related field) from a four-year accredited university.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing real estate portfolios and performing accounting functions in a real estate setting.

Work Environment:
This is an office-based position in Nashville, TN. The role operates in a professional office environment with routine use of standard office equipment (computers, phones, photocopiers).
