

Accounts Receivable Specialist POST NUMBER: 445065
Location – Plantation, FL
Schedule: 1 day remote, Start time between 8AM-9AM (flexible), no weekends unless there is a major need
Compensation - $20-$24/hour
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team, focusing on billing, payment application, and reconciliation for builders and developers.
- Responsible for managing the accounts receivable processes
- Ensuring accurate and timely billing
- Applying payments, and reconciling accounts.
- This role requires strong excel and analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of accounts receivable functions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Generate and send invoices to builders and developers for various charges, including maintenance, special assessments, and other fees.
- Apply payments received from builders and developers accurately and promptly to the appropriate accounts.
- Reconcile accounts receivable balances, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly and discrepancies are resolved.
- Create, review and reconcile a variety of reports, including unit ledgers, developer reports, sales reports, developer closing reports, and special assessments.
- Collaborate with the property management team to confirm assessment amounts, frequency, and any additional fees.
- Verify total number of lots/addresses and future phases for accurate billing.
- Provide closing instructions and required contents for developers and builders.
- Handle inquiries related to billing, payments, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and process check requests for fund transfers as required.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Skills Needed:
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes and financial systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite with strong emphasis on Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, macros).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Business or related field from an accredited college or university
- 2 years of Accounts Receivable experience
Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies
- Experience working with developers or in the real estate industry.
- Certification in relevant accounting or financial management.
- Strong organization, motivation and interpersonal skills.
- Critical thinking, complex problem solving, judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have a strong work ethic and be detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Must have strong proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office, including but not limited to excel working with formulas, pivot tables and macros (preferred).
- Ability to work with sensitive or confidential information.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently and be self-driven.
