The Product Information Manager is a permanent opportunity with an onsite schedule.
Responsibilities:
Our Product Catalog Manager will be responsible for gathering and managing product information in our PIM, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams, and optimizing product listings for maximum customer engagement and sales.
- Select, implement, and manage the Product Information Management (PIM) system to ensure efficient product data management and synchronization across channels.
- Deep product management and PIM knowledge with respect to product requirements and eCommerce needs.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors to obtain accurate product images, pricing, and specifications.
- Collaborate with the graphics department to create and deliver high-quality product images for e-commerce and marketing purposes. Develop detailed and accurate product page content, including descriptions, features, and specifications.
- Play a pivotal role in new product launches by helping to define product requirements and ensuring a smooth transition to market.
- Own and maintain the e-commerce product catalog, including product attribute taxonomy and on-site navigation. Ensure product data accuracy and completeness. Enter all information into the PIM and maintain product completeness.
- Manage product requirements lists within PIM and ensure product data integrity and provide formatted product lists for configuration teams.
- Provide the marketing and ecommerce teams with relevant product information to support marketing campaigns and initiatives.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize product category organization, on-site navigation, and product listings for both e-commerce and SEO purposes.
- Analyze current business performance to identify opportunities and risks in future product assortments.
- Partner with marketing, fulfillment, IT, merchandising, and vendor teams to ensure product information accuracy, efficient fulfillment, and effective merchandising.
- Additional duties as assigned by management.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supports members of eCommerce merchandising team
- Involved in recruitment and hiring of eCommerce merchandising staff and conducts performance evaluations
- Identifies training needs for current staff and coordinates training programs for current and new staff
Skills Required/Software Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of Ecommerce merchandising best practices, including product categorization, content optimization, and cross-selling strategies.
- Strong analytical skills to analyze data and identify trends.
- Experience collaborating with IT and technology teams to implement and deploy systems and data-driven initiatives.
- Exceptional relationship management, presentation, and communication skills to build trust and credibility with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent organizational skills with a strong emphasis on attention to detail and maintaining data accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Acute attention to detail and ability to research and problem-solve issues.
- Demonstrated experience managing third-party vendors and working closely with cross-functional teams.
- SEO experience a plus
- Strong Excel
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, merchandising, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in eCommerce, web merchandising, usability, digital marketing, or related project management, ideally within retail or eCommerce sectors.
- 3 years of experience managing high volume, complex inventory data ideally within a PIM system and management of it.
- Experience in implementing a standalone PIM system is a plus. IE: Akeneo, Salsify, Plytix
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds on occasion.
