Overview:
We are currently seeking a Revenue Cycle Consulting Associate/Supervisor with 2–5 years of healthcare industry experience, particularly within the revenue cycle space. This is a client-facing consulting role ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, is comfortable engaging with healthcare leadership, and has a strong desire to grow their career in healthcare operations and advisory work.
This position offers a contract-to-hire pathway with a conversion salary range of $70,000–$90,000/year (~$33–$43/hour on the contract side), and travel is an essential component of the role.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and support project teams focused on patient access, HIM, coding, and patient accounting in hospital or large physician group settings.

Evaluate healthcare business processes and financial performance to identify gaps and recommend improvements.

Support implementation and optimization of EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, Dentrix, etc.).

Develop and present deliverables, presentations, and client reports.

Train client staff on new processes and systems.

Contribute to project planning, execution, and reporting.

Mentor junior team members and ensure quality work products.

Represent the organization professionally in client-facing settings with department leaders and stakeholders.
What We're Looking For:

2–5 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle consulting or operations.

Proven ability to interact with senior-level stakeholders in a healthcare setting.

Intermediate Excel skills; adaptable with different healthcare software platforms.

Strong communication, presentation, and analytical skills.

High energy and flexible—comfortable pivoting with client/project needs.

Committed to a long-term career in healthcare advisory services.
Travel Expectations:

Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% nationwide (actual travel typically less due to remote-friendly client preferences).

Standard travel schedule is Monday through Thursday; no travel on Fridays.

All travel expenses (flight, hotel, meals) are reimbursed.

No travel during major holiday weeks; closed the week of Christmas and New Year’s.

Candidates should be located near a major airport; not ideal for those in remote or rural locations.
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required.

Prior consulting experience in the healthcare industry preferred.

Experience with Epic and other major healthcare IT systems a plus.

Familiarity with systems under $2B in annual net revenue.
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range of $33-$43/hr. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
