Principal Analyst - Finance Transformation
Our client, a global medical technology company, is seeking a Principal Analyst - Finance Transformation to join their growing organization. This is a manager-level position.
Location:
Sunnyvale, CA. This is a hybrid role with in-office presence required Tuesday-Thursday.
Job Description:
The role is a part of the Finance Transformation team within the accounting department. This position will focus on areas around product operations (inventory management, procurement, supply chain, intercompany accounting). The role requires working closely with functional leaders, identifying and addressing process gaps, implementing best practices, implementing and managing SOX controls, leading finance workstreams on large projects working closely with IT, and overall helping improve efficiency, quality, and timeliness of their financial transaction processing and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Develop functional roadmap collaborating with key stakeholders, conduct periodic review and publish updated roadmaps. Develop deep process expertise in assigned areas.
- Collaborate with functional teams to understand process gaps, identify opportunities for process improvement, leverage best practices and deliver process improvement initiatives.
- Develop metrics to measure process effectiveness, enable ongoing metrics measurement and reporting, conduct periodic reviews with stakeholders and use metrics to drive operational efficiencies.
- Represent the finance function on cross functional IT projects – Lead finance work stream, develop user requirements collaborating with stakeholders, perform business testing, develop operating procedures, manage deployment, and ensure realization of business value.
- Create project plans, detailed workplans, test scoping and definition, identify functional interdependencies, training, and communication plans.
- Prioritize and manage systems issues working with IT and provide updates to stakeholders.
- Review system changes for impact to finance business processes/finance impact analysis.
- Evaluate projects/system changes for SOX impact and scope out necessary SOX testing/ controls updates working with compliance teams.
- Perform data analysis, reporting needed to enable process improvement.
- Work collaboratively across functions (various business functions, IT, Enterprise Analytics)
Requirements:
- Minimum of 7 years of consulting or industry experience preferably in a manufacturing company, working on finance/systems projects.
- Experience across end-to-end business processes. Working knowledge of Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Inventory transactions is essential.
- Excellent planning, organizing and communication skills.
- Self-driven, willingness to learn new areas and work collaboratively.
- Experience with enterprise systems such as SAP ERP, accounting systems, reporting systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working on at least one large, life cycle project in a finance role.
- Advanced Excel skills are essential, working knowledge of Visio/Lucid chart, PowerPoint required.
- Required Education and Training
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or equivalent. MBA/CPA is a plus.
