About the Opportunity
Daily financial operations and compliance: Responsible for processing daily transactions and ensuring internal financial protocols are followed.
  • Complete daily audits of the Financial Division’s operations.
  • Open mail, complete distribution compliance
  • Conduct daily banking, including in-person bank runs and emergency deal closings.
     
Accounts receivable and payable coordination: Manage billing cycles, collections, and vendor payments.
  • Track and resolve billing disputes with clients and creditors.
  • Process refunds, NSF cheques, and deposit errors weekly.
     
Financial reporting and reconciliations: Support monthly and quarterly audits and prepare financial summaries.
  • Reconcile corporate and division-level credit card statements and banking activity.
  • Assist with monthly budget audits and shared drive clean-up for financial records.
  • Help prepare financial requisitions and statements as requested by management.
     
Support for bookkeeping: Assist the department with ongoing accounting responsibilities.

  • As needed - QuickBooks journal entries
     
Budget tracking and improvement initiatives: Contribute to cost management and company-wide financial goals.
  • Assist in divisional budget creation and monthly budget compliance reviews.
  • Support the company’s paperless initiative and digitization of financial documents.
  • Provide backup coverage for the department during peak reporting periods. 

Administrative and compliance support: Maintain accurate documentation and uphold internal controls.
  • Ensure security protocols are followed prior to authorizing any financial transaction.
  • Organize and manage digital and paper-based financial records.
  • Assist with special financial projects and ad hoc reporting needs.

About You:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or AR/AP roles.
  • Experience using accounting software is required.
  • Strong understanding of financial compliance, AR/AP workflows, and audit processes.
  • Advanced Excel skills (XLOOKUP, PivotTables, formulas, macros, etc.) are required.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume environment.
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to type 50 WPM.
  • Must own a vehicle and have access at all times.

Assets:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills (XLOOKUP, PivotTables, etc.) is an asset.
  • Experience preparing financial reports for senior management or government filings.
  • Knowledge of HST, WSIB, and payroll remittance procedures.
  • Experience supporting multi-division or real estate–based accounting.
  • Proficiency with online banking platforms and payment reconciliation tools.
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak deadlines (quarterly/year-end filings).
     
Work Schedule and Conditions:
  • Work Schedule Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm with flexibility to work additional hours during peak reporting or filing deadlines.
  • Must work on-site in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Regular collaboration with Finance Manager and department heads to support strategic goals.
  • Must be able to meet daily, monthly, and quarterly financial targets under tight deadlines.

Pay Range:
$26 - $28 an hour
