Vaco has partnered with a manufacturing company on the North side of Indianapolis to fill an Accounting Specialist position. This position is fully in office and requires strong experience with full cycle Accounts Payables. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Vouchers and inputs accounts payable invoices into SAP.
2. Prepares initial monthly/quarterly sales tax filings.
3. Enter customer/vendor down payment requests.

4. Cash application and online manual disbursements.
5. Maintains vendor documentation.
6. Assists with answering incoming calls.
7. Assists processing expense reports in Concur system for accuracy and adherence to corporate policy as needed.
8.  Reconciles vendor statements.
9. Maintains certificates of insurance.
10. Credit card processing and reconciliation.
11. Maintains AP mailbox.
12.  Processes Customer credit card payments.
13. Completes internal process audits.
14. Prepares monthly reports as needed.
15. Assists in preparing for external audits.
16. Special projects as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associates degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or other related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Previous accounting or customer service
experience in a manufacturing environment where general bookkeeping skills were essential to the overall operations of the organization is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: A valid driver’s license may be required for this position.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Computer software skills required include: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Adobe. Familiarity with Access and SAP accounting software is desired. Ability to operate a printer, copy machine, scanner and other office equipment is desired. Employee must have the ability to adapt and conform to shifting priorities and demands and execute accordingly. Experience working with a multi-line telephone system is desired.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Employee should have strong time management skills and be able to multi-task while meeting demanding deadlines and working with numerous interruptions, as well as confidential information.
